The unusually high incidence of motorcycle accident deaths in Florida can be attributed primarily to the state’s low helmet legislation. Unlike many other states, Florida does not mandate all motorcycle riders to wear helmets. Because there is no common requirement to wear a helmet in an accident, the risk of fatal injuries increases.
