The jacket design means the valve features an outer shell or jacket surrounding the valve body that allows a heating or cooling medium (like steam or water) to circulate around the valve body, and maintain the temperature of the fluids and prevent from freezing or solidification of the fluids.   These valves consist of a plug which rotates to control the fluid flow, when the plug is rotated 90 degrees to align with ports, it allows fluids to flow through the valve and when they are turned opposite it stops the flow and blocks the path, preventing leakage.
